Hello, my name is Betsy! I grew up on the east coast and was a student-athlete at the University of Maryland. I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Kinesiology. Soon after graduation, I took a leap of faith and moved across the country to San Diego and have been here ever since. I spent six years climbing the corporate ladder in medicals sales. During this time, I gained valuable experience and grew as a professional; however, something was missing, and I knew I needed to make a change. I wanted to make a difference, and I wanted to be more connected to my community. As time went on, I reflected upon what was important to me, and I came to the realization that teaching was my calling. I enrolled in the Master of Education program at the University of California, San Diego.

My time in the classroom, working alongside the students has only solidified my desire to take on this new and exciting challenge.
